Do you use your collectibles or keep them pristine?

I have this dilemma - I collect beautiful lighters but never use them, fearing damage. But then what's the point of a lighter if not to light? What's your philosophy on this?

For rare pieces, I keep pristine backups but use the main one. Best of both worlds - enjoy it while preserving value.

I rotate my daily carry from my collection. Each piece gets used regularly. They develop character that way.

Keep them pristine for resale value if you plan to sell. If collecting for yourself, enjoy them! That's the whole point.
